It’s time for “Kids4Turkeys”!  The VRE Dads Club will help collect the turkeys in the student drop off lines at Valley Ranch Elementary. We need 4 volunteers to arrive to the school this Friday morning at 7:20AM to help collect the turkeys. You will be finished no later than 8:00AM so it shouldn’t interrupt your work schedule. Please show up if you can help.

CISD’s Annual Turkey Drive which benefits the North Texas Food Bank is set for Friday, November 20, from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. Drop-off stations for frozen turkeys will be set-up at every CISD turkeycampus and at the Vonita White Administration Building. You can purchase turkeys online and save the hassle of trekking to the store and bringing it to the school. VRE has donated more turkeys than any other school the past few years but the rumor is that other schools are gunning for the title this year so be sure to donate one way or the other!  Gobble Gobble!

Once again this year, the Pre-K Pumpkin Patch was held in the VRE Garden and it brought many smiles to the children’s faces. The event started by reading a Halloween / Fall Harvest themed book to the children, after which the kids were allowed to wander through the garden and select a small pumpkin to take home. Each class also had a large pumpkin which they carved and decorated together. A few photos are shown below and more are contained in the Photo Gallery.
